Former BBC building - Refurbishment:
North Park House, constructed in 1869 by architect J.T. Rochead for the Bell family, this building later became a college with additional buildings designed by Honeyman and Keppie architects and their associate Charles Rennie Mackintosh. Then in the 1930s BBC Scotland took over the site and after adaptation resided there until their 2007 move to their current riverside location. Due initially for redevelopment as a hotel and housing, the property and site lay vacant following the BBC's move to the riverside and their new Chipperfield designed headquarters. 2011 and 2012 saw the local nightclub empressario Stefan King purchase the building. Extensive conversion and refurbishment works have been underway (late 2012) to convert the property into company offices and a private residence.
